Did you know that
senior pets, or pets over the age of seven, are more predisposed to
conditions such as liver and kidney disease, heart disease,
endocrine disease, arthritis and cancer? Because we want to
maintain your pet as a member of your family for as long as
possible, we recommend taking steps to maximize early disease
detection. Our pets are masters of disguise and will
successfully hide signs of disease until very late in the disease
process. By performing routine bloodwork as part of a senior
wellness program, we can detect these diseases and help to
delay not only the progression of the disease but also the signs
associated with these diseases.

Let us help you maximize the quantity and quality of your pets life! Call our office to set up an appointment for senior wellness testing. This testing includes a complete blood count (to measure red blood cell counts, white blood cell counts and clotting ability), a chemistry screen (to check liver and kidney function, measure blood sugar levels and electrolytes), and a thyroid hormone level. During your pets senior wellness visit, you can discuss any changes you've noticed at home with one of our doctors. Additionally, we can advise you on your pets changing nutritional needs. |
